Alice Levina Teague Scott, 88, of Hickory, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC.
Born May 8, 1925 in Alexander County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Fannie Mae Teague.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Byron A. Scott of 62 years; two brothers: Ray and Jay Teague; two sisters: Iva Lee T. Stafford and Cordie T. Wyke.
She was a charter member of Springs Road Baptist Church and attended Temple Baptist Church. Alice was a devoted wife and mother. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was a wonderful baker, cook, and story teller. She loved the companionship of her pets, Rocky and Patches.
She is survived by two daughters: Wanda Scott Turner of Hickory, NC, Cathy Scott Lawson and husband Billy of Greensboro, NC; son, Byron (Barney) A. Scott, Jr. and wife Gail of Claremont, NC; a brother, Ed Teague, Jr. of Florida; grandchildren: Christy Pennell of Hickory, NC, Matthew Pennell and wife Beth of Hickory, NC, Jennifer Turner of Newton, NC, Jeffrey Turner of Hickory, NC; and a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Pennell.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in the chapel at Bass-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Philbeck officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Bass-Smith Funeral Home.
