Charles Ray Bolch, 86, of Hickory, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Lutheran Home Hickory West.
Born March 21, 1926 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Jefferson Augustus Bolch and Vera Honeycutt Bolch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Louise Ezell Bolch; and a brother, Glenn Alfred Bolch.
A member of Highland United Methodist Church, Mr. Bolch was veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II and a retired Computer Programmer Analyst. He enjoyed music, particularly Big Band Music and played saxophone with his brothers in their band, Syncopats.
Charles was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan Bolch Clark of Hickory, NC; son, Alan Charles Bolch and wife Pat of Newton, NC; two grandsons: Adam C. Clark and wife Christy of Mishawaka, IN, Erik A. Bolch of Hickory, NC; two great-granddaughters: Emma Katelynn Clark and Elena Caroline Clark; a sister, Audrey B. Robeson of Schertz, TX; and two brothers, Donald Bolch of Lewisville, TX and Thomas Bolch of Raleigh, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Highland United Methodist Church with Pastor Adam Clark, grandson of Mr. Bolch, officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. Graveside military honors will be performed by American Legion Post 48.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at the church.
