Ralph Edward (Jack) Bolick, 91, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Carolina Caring.
Born April 2, 1927 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Leroy Columbus Bolick and Myrtle Ethel Benge Bolick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Jack served during World War II. He was a member of West Hickory Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and had retired from Sears. He was also a member and former President of the Exchange Club. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed writing poetry and had several of them published. He also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and working with his flowers.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Juanita Tolbert Bolick of the home; son, Edward Bolick and wife Shelley of Winston Salem; grandson, Michael Bolick of Winston Salem; and a special nephew, Kevin Biggerstaff of San Francisco, CA.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at West Hickory Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Frady officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the church.
