Jack Hurley Elmore, 84, of Hickory, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Conover Nursing and Rehab.
Born December 23, 1932 in Rowan County, NC, he was the son of the late Doras Efrim Elmore and Lois Hurley Elmore.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Wilkey Elmore and two sisters: Grace Hefner and Amy Stone.
A veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Mr. Elmore had retired from the furniture industry and loved woodworking. He was also a member of the Conover Masonic Lodge.
Jack is survived by two daughters: Kim Leigh Elmore of Lancaster, SC, and Sandra Doreen Bolio and husband Bruce of King, NC; three sons: Timothy Scott Elmore and wife Karen of Bethlehem, Wesley Thomas Elmore of Phoenix, AZ, and Michael Lynn Elmore and wife Teresa of Hickory; two sisters: Mary Polus of Chicago, IL, Jane Williams of Conover, NC; a brother, Doras Elmore of Bethlehem, NC; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family has planned for a private service.
Memorials may be made in his honor to a Hospice facility of one's choice.
