Clifford Gerald Moore, Jr., 86, of Hickory, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.
Born September 24, 1931, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late C. Gerald Moore and Charlotte Lucille Huffman and married to the late Lillian Gail Auton since August 8th 1953.
Clifford previously owned his own electrical contractor business, Industrial Electric Company of Hickory, Inc. for most of his adult life. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher over the years.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Moore and wife, Carol of Charlotte, Dr. Stephen Moore and wife, Margo of Avon Lake, Ohio; daughter, Cynthia Diane Moore of Wilmington; brother, Harold Lee Moore and wife, Marty of Harrisonburg, VA.; grandchildren, Rev. Andrew Moore and wife, Amanda of Gary, Ind.; Dr. Elizabeth Eades and husband, Dr. Mark Eades of Hillsborough; Matthew Moore, John Moore, and Stephen Moore, all of Avon Lake, and great grandson, Ryker James Moore of Gary, Ind.
The funeral service will be held at 3PM, Thursday, April 19th, at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Andrew Moore and Rev. Rendell Hipps officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3PM at the church.
