Ronald John Waksmunski, 74 of Granite Falls, passed away Sunday, October, 28, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 27, 1944 in Middlesex, New Jersey: to the late John and Mary Krawczyk Waksmunski , in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Alfred Watson.
Mr. Waksmunski was a film processor with Chemical Company in New Jersey. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren, who he adored, also a member of the Taylorsvile DAV.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hickory: where he enjoyed worshiping, served his country proudly during the Vietnam Conflict in the US Army.
Survivors include his son; Michael Waksmunski and spouse Mandy of Granite Falls, a daughter, Cheryl Eldridge on Newton, NC; three grandchildren include Brittany, Marissa, and Alexa; one sister, Lorraine Ricci of New Jersey.
Burial with full military honors to be held Friday, November 2, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC with Rev. Lynn Parsons officiating, the family will also gather at Day 3 Church 4365 Hky Blvd., Granite Falls, NC 28630 at 12:45 p.m.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, 9:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 921 2nd St. NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
Memorials in his honor may be made to the Caldwell Co. Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood St. Lenoir, NC 28645.
