Thomas Eugene Roby, 56, of Hickory passed away on Monday February 11, 2019 at Autumn Care of Drexel.
Born on April 8, 1962, Tom was the son of the late Grace Crusan Roby and Paul Roby. In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by two sisters; Ruth Laskoski and Virginia “Ella” Kisamore, one brother; William Roby, and grand-dog; Macy.
Tom was born and spent his youth in Bolivar, PA. He is a graduate of San Diego State University with a Degree in Communications and worked at AT&T as a Special Technician until his retirement. He also served in the US Marine Corps for over 13 years.
Tom was a major motorcycle enthusiast. He was very involved with the Patriot Guard Riders and the American Legion Riders who were active escorts for US Veteran’s Funerals. He loved to volunteer his time for the Salvation Army, Soup Kitchens and anywhere he was needed. Tom was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a Carolina Panthers Fan (except when they played the Steelers.)He loved to hunt, fish, work in his garden, and tinker with cars. He adored and was adored by his family and many friends. He will be deeply and forever missed.
Tom is survived by his wife, Dena “~huChanti” Roby of the home; two daughters, Kristina Grace Roby-Lynch and husband Joshua of Bryson City, NC. and Alberta Shay Krystal Roby of the home; one brother, Paul “Sonny” Roby and wife Patricia of Myrtle Beach, SC.; two sisters, Diane Brant and husband Thomas of Ligonier, PA., and Cyndi Greer and husband Clint of Warrenton, NC.; two brothers-in-law, Edward Laskoski of Ligonier, PA. and Samuel Kisamore of Lamar CO; countless nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs: Faun, Naha, Anubis, Winter, and Brannon.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
